“I’ve always thought of myself as an 80-percenter. I like to throw myself passionately into a sport or activity until I reach 80 percent proficiency level. To go beyond that requires an obsession and degree of specialization that doesn’t appeal to me.” – Yvon Chouinard,  Patagonia founder

Endurance Changes Time represents the 80-percenter athletes of the world. Those of us who work hard enough to satisfy our competitive desires, but aren’t quite willing to drop the day jobs (and the savings account) to pursue our athletic endeavors in their entirety. There’s nothing to be ashamed in that either. We need a balance in life – family, work, play. When priorities creep out of balance, we are forced to sacrifice relationships, opportunities, and indulgencences that detract from a fulfilled lifestyle. We understand we’re not going to transform into Michael Phelps or Venus Williams overnight, but we keep training and working hard to prove to ourselves that we are in control of our lives.

Calling all the weekend warriors, savage competitors, triathletes, cross-fitters, yogis, ultra-marathoners, shoulda-beens/wanna-be semi-pros. This community welcomes, you, your experiences, inspirations, obstacles, and advice.

Keep moving,

Julia & Dan
